Bike & Prayer Group Details:

All are welcome to join Dan Newman on Tuesday, May 4th from 6:30pm-8:00pm for a prayer and bike ride.  Please bring a bike, helmet, and a heart open to prayer!  If you don't have a bike or helmet, they can be provided for you by emailing Sara in the church office.  Once we are gathered as a group, we will assess everyone's biking level and plan our route!  Possible routes are in the MetroParks or around the Coffinberry neighborhood or to the lake!  It will be so great to pray and bike outside.  If it is raining, we will meet on the following Tuesday, May 11th.  Please email the church office with any questions.  We look forward to biking and praying together!

ROCKPORT HAPPENINGS!

For The Whole Church:

Hello Rockport Family!
The kids and Youth are continuing building back up their Cabinet Mission. Since the Cabinet is here FOREVER, We want to make sure we remind everyone that it is still out there! During the Pandemic, it has been serving a LARGE community of people - we’re conservatively saying around 50, but we think it’s a much larger number. But we are running into problems keeping up with items to put into the cabinet.

WE WANT TO THANK EVERYONE - we’ve gotten some support and donations during Covid, and that has helped us provide this mission to the community. Your support has been not only appreciated, but has meant the world to us!

If you’d like to help replenish the cabinet, and haven’t had a chance to do so yet, please see the List enclosed in the Cabinet Graphic below for suggestions! While the pandemic is on, we’re also taking non perishable foods as well. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

MISSION MEETING!
UMKids’ Club & Youth Peeps!
We will be meeting on ZOOM to throw around ideas for the summer on safe ways to carry out some mission! PLEASE plan on attending if you are available. I KNOW we’re tired of Zoom, but your voice cannot be heard if you’re not pitching in ideas at our session!

Monday, May 10th, 7 p.m. (roughly 30 min)

COME WITH YOUR IDEAS! I know this meeting isn’t until MAY BUT I would like you guys to all be thinking of MISSION and ideas in the weeks before we meet!

UMKids’ Club 6th graders & Youth Peeps! Big Brothers and Sisters Project
Special Mission Project…
Calling all older kids to work on a special project for the younger kids!

It’s been hard on all of us SO MUCH this past year, being separated. But the younger kids (5th grade and under) have had an especially hard time with this.

I am hoping that you guys can sign up to be a pretend big brother or sister for one of our younger kids… I will assign you to someone (NOT a sibling of your own!) to do something special for. Color a picture… bake some cookies… give a small gift (dollar store gift, nothing crazy! It’s the thought that counts here!) AND I would like you to pick out a very special Bible verse for them and write it on an index card…

I am hoping to send these out the first week of MAY. So I need you guys to begin signing up NOW!
There are enough of you guys (6th through 12th) graders to have one kid assigned to you!

PLEASE consider this one time event. OF COURSE after we are done I hope you will be able to wave and say hello to your kid after this haha BUT you do not have to keep sending gifts or cards - I just want this to connect the kids to the people they admire most - YOU GUYS. They get so excited to know what the “Big Kids” are doing next! And what they will get to do when THEY are the BIG KIDS!

*IF YOU CANNOT drop the cards/gift at their home, I can do delivery service - PLEASE do not pay to mail anything bigger than a card!  I dont want this to be a big expense for people! Just a good and kind deed!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

KIDS AND YOUTH!!!!
WE are back up and running for the Take What You Need Cabinet! Volunteers ARE NEEDED to begin taking over filling it and inventorying it, etc.
WE WILL DISCUSS further at our May Mission Meeting! MANY thanks go our to our adults who have been filling it up for us during COVID!

CHILDREN & YOUTH
SOON I will be dropping off (or you can pick up) ornament kits to make decorations for the Rockport peeps who live in apartments/condos and Nursing Homes. Emails will go out in a week with the info! BE WATCHING! The Bunny may be on vacation after Easter, but we are still here and ready to make some people smile! WOOHOO!

*You can absolutely sign up to make more than one ornament - BUT I am asking everyone to try to make at least ONE… even when we are separate, we can be working on mission together! Our Bunny people were really REALLY happy and felt the love!

BOOK CLUB

Your Rockport Book Club would welcome any new readers to join us on Monday, May 10th at 7pm on Zoom.  If weather is decent and we are all healthy (and immunized!), we will meet at Ellen Toida's house.  We will be discussing the book "Carnegie's Maid" by Marie Benedict. "Carnegie's Maid" is and intriguing 'What if' story of an Irish Immigrant and the King of Steel. Everyone is welcome and let Sara in the church office know that you would like to receive the Zoom link.  Hopefully we'll see you in person, (or on Zoom) on May 10th.
