ROCKPORT HAPPENINGS!

“MAKING SENSE OF THE BIBLE”:
Join us Wednesdays for five weeks from August 9th through Sept. 6thfrom 6:00-7:30pm for our next study, “Making Sense of the Bible” by Adam Hamilton.  Light dinner from 6-6:30 and study from 6:30-7:30pm, outdoors on the patio (weather permitting). The book begins with foundational questions such as, How and when was the Bible written? Who decided which books made it into the scriptures and why? How literally must we read it? And is the Bible ever wrong?  Please sign-up on the chapel hallway bulletin board or call/email the church.

ROCKPORT MUSIC MINISTRY:
Psalm 150 proclaims “…everything that has breath give praise to the Lord!” The choir supports and enhances worship. Music inspires fellowship together. Music expresses things that we are unable to express in words alone.

On Tuesday, September 5, 2023 choir rehearsals resume from 6:00-7:20pm. Please join us in singing and fellowship as we prepare for Sunday worship.  Any questions, call Susan Shick, Music Director/Organist at home, 440-331-5718 (H), or email, ershick@prodigy.net.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED OR VOLUNTEERED IN OUR YOUTH MISSION WEEKEND!
We had a phenomenal group of youth and adults work hard for our Youth Mission weekend this year! The kids worked hard, the adults who chaperoned and chauffeured worked hard, and our Food volunteers made us the BEST meals! We thank everyone for their hard work and dedication!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: THANK YOU to the Church Family members who opened their homes and yards to us to let us come in and do tasks for you! We appreciated you very much!

COMING SOON!  SPIRITUAL HEALING SERVICE! DETAILS TO COME …
Contact Pastor Don or the church office if interested in attending.

BOOK CLUB:
Our next book discussion will be on Monday, Sept. 11th @ 7:00pm on the church patio.  The book we will be reading is “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell” by Robert Dugoni. This is a coming-of-age novel chronicling the life of protagonist Sam Hill, who is born with a genetic condition causing his irises to appear red.  From his early years, Sam faces ostracization and bullying, but his deeply Catholic mother insists the condition is God’s will. Hope to see everyone on Sept. 11th for fun, fellowship and discussion.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY Beginning this Fall! WEDNESDAYS at 8 p.m. BEGINNING ON SEPT. 13TH!
Join us for a 9 week course taught by Jim Spallino, that is a short-term study out of the Disciple Study series, called  “Invitation to the New Testament”. Explore the writings of the New Testament using the story of Jesus as the starting point. This survey of the testament looks at how the early church took ownership of and was shaped by the story of Jesus and how the church learned how to develop as disciples and create communities of faith. A limited amount of gently used books will be available for a $6 price. Reserve your book soon!

LUNCH & CHAT ADULT DISCUSSION GROUP!
Come and join us this summer! Bring your lunch and enjoy your food AND a great discussion! We will explore various topics in the church and Bible.
