Dear Rockport Family and Friends, Wishing you blessings and peace as we enter August and look ahead to the fall! Schools are announcing their reopening plans, families are making plans as they adjust to the ever-changing needs and requirements, and all of us are missing the chance to be in person for worship. I certainly miss seeing your faces and singing hymns with you, having conversations in the parlor and being together in the sanctuary, chapel, and outdoors. I continue to give thanks for all that God is doing through the ministries of Rockport, even in this time apart. We are blessed with the gift of technology that keeps us connected to one another, allows us to worship together online, and assists us to grow our relationship with God.
In my last message, I mentioned that the Reopening Team had been hard at work planning our next steps at Rockport. After many meetings, lots of prayer, and under the guidance of public health officials, the Reopening Team is ready to release our Leveled Reopening Plan Diagram (above this letter.) This diagram will help us all understand what we anticipate Rockport's plans to be moving forward. Each week on the home page of our website and in other communications to you, we will update our information to reflect our current level. Transition from one level to another will be determined by the Rockport Reopening Team according to both the current Public Health Advisory Level in Cuyahoga County and a 14-day sustained decrease in new cases. It is expected that all persons on church property will adhere to these procedures for the health and safety of everyone. To download a printable copy of the Reopening Diagram, click here.
Rockport continues to be in need of donations (and volunteers!) to help with our Take What You Need Cabinet. We also deeply appreciate the tithes and offerings that you give during this time. Your giving makes the ministry we do possible!
You are also invited to join us following worship (or at 10:45ish) for a Virtual Coffee Hour on Zoom. We will plan to be on immediately following worship and will be on until about 11:15am. We hope you will join us with a drink and a snack (or meal!) of your choice and connect with one another during this time apart.
Please know that you continue to be in my prayers. If you are in need of pastoral care or conversation, please don’t hesitate to contact me by phone or by email (pastor@rockportumc.org). Stay healthy,
Rev. Lorrin Radzik Pastor, Rockport UMC
