A Note Of Thanks To Rev. Laurie!

 

1 Timothy 5:17 :The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.


Sunday June 27, 2021 will be the last Sunday for Rev. Laurie as the interim pastor at Rockport Church.  On behalf of the Staff Parish Committee and the entire Rockport Church Family, we thank God for Rev. Laurie and all that she did to help us and the church!  Her love, friendship, and leadership are much appreciated.  We are also very happy that she will be filling-in to preach when Rev. Don is unavailable.  So, this note of appreciation is not a goodbye – just a huge THANK YOU REV. LAURIE!

BIBLE STUDY:
"Words of Life: Jesus and the Promise of the Ten Commandments Today" by Adam Hamilton:

Thanks to the 12 people who attended the first session of the bible study.  Join us for future lessons on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30pm for in person study.  Zoom will no longer be offered as everyone chose in person.  Walk-ins are always welcome.

BOOK CLUB

Please join us on Tuesday, Aug. 3rd at 7pm outside on the church patio.  We will be reading The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave.  This is a mystery/domestic suspense about a man living a lie and his wife and daughter who struggle to discover who he really is.  When Hannah Hall receives a note from her husband stating nothing more than “Protect her,” one random afternoon, her whole world shatters. Her husband Owen has disappeared without a trace, and she soon learns that he was not the man she thought he was. Charged with taking care of her contentious stepdaughter, Bailey, she and Bailey slowly begin to investigate Owen leading them to danger and a startling revelation.  Hope to see you all on Aug. 3rd for fellowship and discussion!

SUMMER PLANS & MISSION STUFF!
PLEASE BE WATCHING Children and Youth Updates & Emails for Summer plans! We will be adding dates ALL SUMMER as things become available! Don’t worry, next summer I will go back to having the schedule alllll out at a crazy early time haha but I am happy to be able to meet together! So we will add as we go!
YOUTH!
Date ONE: Mission Planning and Hanging out! JUNE 30th from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Backyard.
Date TWO: Youth Group July 22nd from 7 – 8:30

WE NEED volunteers for our ONE DAY VBS towards the end of the summer. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering in some capacity! As soon as a date is planned, we will get it out to you! (Youth AND Adults!)

*Masks indoors for now, and outdoors for those not vaccinated. We will be socially distancing still right now. Every couple weeks the Reopening team is reassessing policy. If any policy changes happen before the date we meet for things, I will let you know!
