Dear Rockport Family and Friends,
Today at the Governor's Press Conference, Governor DeWine noted that due to an increase in cases of COVID-19 in Cuyahoga County, the county is now red and on the watch list for transition to purple in the Ohio Public Health Advisory System. According to Rockport's Reopening Plan (which can be found here) this means that Rockport will be transitioning back to Level 3 (Red) status at the church. As of 10/16/2020, all in-person activities, including worship have been postponed, canceled, or moved online. If you are scheduled to attend a meeting, Bible Study, or small group activity, please be in contact with your small group leader to learn about your next steps. Because of the changes necessitated by this change in status, worship will be recorded and uploaded to Rockport's Facebook, YouTube Channel, and Website as soon as it is available, but it will not be until later on Sunday afternoon. Please remember we are all doing new things and give our worship leaders, volunteers, and tech folks some grace! None of this is easy and everyone is doing the best we can!
There will be no in-person worship on Sunday, October 25, Sunday, November 1, 2020, or Sunday, November 8.
In other Rockport news: Sunday, October 4 was our annual Consecration Sunday! If you have not yet returned your 2021 pledge card, please do so as soon as possible, so that we can use those to begin work on our 2021 budget. If you are in need of another card, or did not receive one, please contact the Church Office!
Pastor Lorrin is away from October 6-October 26, 2020. During her time away, she will not be checking email or my cell phone for Rockport related business. If you are in need of emergency pastoral care, we are blessed to have two amazing pastors who will serve on call to care for your needs during this time. If you need to be in contact with one of the pastors providing coverage, please call the Church Office.
